⏀The Meaning of the Things – Growing up, I used to think that beauty, music, morality were intrinsic parts of the universe, much like a carbon atom or hydrogen dust. Living right was a matter of perception. Now I realize that beauty does not exist in the absence of a self-aware witness. We create these elements into existence. A recent NYT perspective piece by a cosmologist highlights the tremendous power this worldview has for our daily lives.
